Described as ''one of the best in the business'' I won Greater Manchester Woman of the year for my work in 2004 and two of my residencies were awarded first prize in the National Big Draw awards 2004 and 2005.
I have an arts background combined with environmental training and I worked as a Countryside Warden for a nationally renowned Warden Service from 1990 to 2001.
I was lucky enough to be trained by experts in their field including internationally acclaimed environmental experts Joseph Cornell from Canada and Steve Van Matre from the US.
I have also had survival and bush craft training from Ray Meres.
International work:
1990 Costa Rica
2004 Macedonia.
Training
I have been leading training (for 20 years) for many schools and other organisations nationwide.
My specialisms
Special needs groups. Disaffected/damaged young people and young offenders. Early years. The elderly. Mental health. Community cohesion and involvement.
Publications – My work is featured in the book ‘Art, Community and Environment’.
'In my 30 years of working with children and adults from all walks of life my mission has always been to encourage them to find and then develop a new understanding and a sense of wonder and ownership of the world around them.
I then enable them to find their creativity and develop their confidence to celebrate that place and its people through art'
What one teacher said about my work - ‘The whole school have been touched by a different approach not just to the aims of the project but to life as well’--- Head teacher at St Peters Primary school in Derby.
